Embossing Fun

Started up a new swap over at www.Scrapbookingfun.biz - stop in and join if you would like.  I often forget about all these fun folders, so decided I would remember them better if I use them.  So, time for a swap :)

Since I can't get around too well yet, I am using scraps to make some pieces to be ready to use.

As a bonus - anyone who joins in a swap over at www.scrapbookingfun.biz during the month of July and sends a 3x5 card with Bonus Joining! written on it with their first swap will receive a fun and scrappy prize!  Note:  you have until 10/31/2012 to complete your first swap.  Don't forget to include your 3x5 card that says Bonus Joining! with your swap :).

Slowed down a bit

Kind of feel like I am falling apart these days.  I had pneumonia and was treated with Levaquin.  I remember reading over the side effects, but didn't think much of them at that time.  Now, a week later, Achilles tendinitis as well as tendinitis of my shoulder.  Now we are focusing on recovery and not doing much for movement.  Kind of hard when you live on a farm.  Anyway, once I get back into shape, things will resume.

An interactive Card

Based on the build a page system by Paper Phenomenon, Kathy Orta.  I added some more flaps and all, but that is the beauty of her idea - it is so easy to manipulate into what you want.

So, out of the envelope it comes!

With all the photos inside, I really needed some sort of protection/covering and this wonderful butterfly vellum slide seemed just perfect!

So, once it is removed from the envelope - here it is!  There is a short story incorporated with all the photos.

The first tag pulls out - room for a photograph and some story on the back.

This first flap lifts up to reveal - whoops - we missed your Birthday!
These two large tags both pull out with four more full photographs and story elements.

After seeing the photos and reading the stories on all the front flaps, the card turns over to reveal - more notes and photographs to come!  A simple folded flap holds a few pieces.

Behind the flap are two tag pockets - each with more photos and greetings.

Then, lift the two tag pocket flap to find even more photographs.  I am still working on the green floral pocket decoration - not quite sure what I will use there.  It doesn't show here, but it is a really glimmery paper, so it may end up staying as is.

Inside the green floral pocket are some photographs taken for the recipients frame system.  They are the right size (hmm - wonder why LOL).  This pocket would end up empty, so the other tag with more handwritten greetings will be inserted here.  And finally, the last page has another full size photo (behind the coupons).

Tons of fun to create.  Fairly simple construction.  The build a page system works great for small projects like this that I create for friends/family.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!  If you are looking for something fun to do, check out www.scrapbookingfun.biz and join in some great scrapbook swaps!

Feed Sack Tote Bags - Recycled

What to do with a lot of old feed bags that are made out of nice materials?  They need to be recycled and I can only use so many trash bags.

So --- time for a new purpose!

Scraprageous' Recycled Totes!

I just finished my first batch and hope to have many more for sale at the next farmers market on Friday.  They cost $12.50 each or 3 for $32 (shipping is minimal - these bags are pretty lightweight.  I can fit approximately 5 into a flat rate mailer, so shipping is only $2 for a single bag).  If you are interested, you can check out my Etsy shop, website (www.scraprageous.com) or just email me (scraprageous@gmail.com) for a current pdf flier.

My flier photos still need some work, but at least I have something I can hand out!!  Below are a few samples:

Above - our standard chicken tote.  As you can see - it is about the size of a cub foods bag.  Below is our All Stock bag - it has drawings of several different animals.

We offer several styles of cat food tote bags as well.  Any bag that is made of the plastic type material can be sewn into a tote.  If you want, I can sew them for you at a lower price.  Just ask for the details!

Above - one of our field bags photso.  These bags have been washed both inside and out and are drying in the breeze!
As you can see - these totes have wonderful handles to allow the user to toss over the shoulder, leaving your hands free.

One of our horse feed sack tote bags.

Yes, we make every one of these bags.  The dimensions (unless noted) are all very similar to a paper sack from a grocery store.  I do not put final dimensions on the listings as each feed sack brand/type of tote bag is just a bit different in size.  The blue/green cat food tote above is the smallest of our standard totes, but is still almost the same size as a grocery paper sack.  These bags are completely waterproof and very strong.  The only way to damage them (other than cutting) that I have found is to leave them out in the sun for extended periods of time (all year in all weather).  After that much time in direct sun and weather (wind, rain, snow, etc.), they do start to degrade.  I tried a few last year as container gardens.  They work well for the summer, but the bag does loose its integrity by the end of the growing season.  I do have to say, my container gardens on my deck were definitely some of the more colorful ones around.

Sneak Peak #2

Totally loved creating this, in spite of many challenges (glue, blank space, etc.).  However, can't resist posting another sneak peak at the charger plate.  I sure hope my partner likes it.
